Rules

Kingston League Competition Rules

 Qualification:

All   players must be no older than 17 on 1st January in the year any   league match is played.

Home   & Away:

Each   League fixture will consist of 1 tie. Matches played at home one year will result   in the reverse away fixture next year.

Format   of Play:

1. Matches are 6 x Singles Matchplay.

2. The number of participants in matches   already arranged can be reduced to 4 or 5 if a minimum of one week’s notice   is given. In this case the games are not forfeited but become null and void.

3. If a team is short of players without   prior notice as above – the team which is short will forfeit those games.

Handicaps   and order of play:

1. The maximum Playing Handicap is 40.

2. Handicaps should be taken from each   club’s recognised on-line register.

3. Matches to be played in strict   handicap order.

4. Handicap Allowance is the full   difference between Course Handicaps.

5. The Stroke Index is taken from the   Men’s card when a boy plays a girl.

6. In this instance a further calculation   is made of the difference between the Course Rating from the Red Tees   compared to the Course Rating from the White Tees. The difference is rounded   up/down and added to the Course Handicap of the player with the higher Course   Rating.

Tees:

1. Matches are played from White tees   (boys) and Red tees (girls).

2. Clubs can mutually agree that higher   handicap, or younger boys, can play from Yellow Tees.

Kingston League   Scoring:

Two points for a win and one for a draw

Other   General Rules:

1. No caddies, advice, criticism or any other interference from anyone including parents. Keep 25 metres distance from play.

2. Home clubs may provide a courtesy  round to adults accompanying players, when feasible.

3. When a home club has reduced the  numbers in a match, they must provide a courtesy round to those juniors who  are left without a game.

4. Home clubs should provide an informal   snack to visitors. If this is not possible, please advise the visiting team.
